Gift Ideas For The Christian Dad (That He Actually Wants!)
My hubby makes it possible for me to stay home full time with our two kids. We are planning to homeschool our kids because he makes that a priority. Plus, he sets aside time every evening to let me enjoy peace and quiet and to work on my blog (which is a HUGE sanity saver for this SAHM!) Plus, he has taken the initiative to read to our kids and lead a quick family devotion every night. He is constantly finding little ways to show us how much he loves us and thinks of us during his day at work. Let me tell you, I have a keeper! 😉…

Thanks for your support of this ministry!* Until I became a mom myself, I seriously had no idea how tough being a mom was! Or how much moms do that goes unnoticed. Looking back, I definitely wonder how my mom got everything done that she did get done. So, moms are definitely superheroes that don’t wear capes but what to get them for Mother’s Day? Moms can be tough to shop for. Seriously. While most moms I know are happy spending a…

Practical Steps To Take If You Feel Unqualified To Teach Your Kids The Bible
Okay, I have a confession to make. Some days, I feel overly confident in my ability to teach my kids the Bible. They are so young which means we are still working on the basics. Also, I would like to believe I have a decent grasp of the Bible, academically speaking. Then the other 360 some days of the year, I find myself fighting feelings of being unqualified to train my own kids from the Bible. I question if I am doing enough, ponder if I am capable of doing it well, and doubt whether I said the right thing at all! And my daughter is just now getting…

Books To Help Your Teenage Daughter Grow In Her Walk With God
*This post contains affiliate links. I receive a small commission at no cost to you if you purchase through these links. You can read our disclosure policy here. Thanks for your support of this ministry!* My sweet daughter is only two years old. She kisses each stuffed animal good night, loves “swish” skirts, and is total chocolate lover like her mama. My favorite is when she kisses my cheeks and gives me one of her fierce little hugs and whispers, “Love you, Mama!” My heart simply melts. For all the times that I wish we could get through some challenging phases of having young children, I definitely know I will…

Christian Summer Time Activities To Help Your Kids Grow In Their Faith
Summertime is amazing. The sunshine. The change in your routine. Being outdoors for hours on end. Your kids being dead tired at the end of the day because they played so hard! 🙂 But there are some down sides to all this sunshine and change in routine. Namely the fact that it can be hard to keep up a regular time of teaching the Bible to your kids. During the school year and the colder months, it is natural to sit down with your kids and be intentional about training them to love the Lord. Then, BLAM, summer happens with its vacations, summer sports, yard work, and more.…

The War On Prayer: Why Christian Women Need To Be Prayer Warriors
During dinner this evening, my husband and I were discussing a certain picture that had caught our eye in a recent news article we had both read. The picture was of some protesters holding a sign that said, “Thoughts. Prayers. Actions.” The World’s View Of Prayer Of course, I realize that the protesters pictured in this article were trying to make a point that they wanted a certain action to be taken. However, the idea behind the words on their sign stuck with both my husband and I as a strong picture of the world’s view of prayer. In our modern culture, prayer is viewed in many of the…

Amazing Christian Gift Ideas To Include In Your Kid’s Easter Basket!
For Christians, Easter is the highlight moment of celebration of Jesus’ victory over sin, death, and the grave! However, roaming the local stores I often struggle to find any evidence of Easter’s relation to the empty tomb. Instead there are rows of Easter bunnies, plastic eggs, and pastel baby chicks. If I look hard, I can find a chocolate shaped cross and maybe a little sign that says He is Risen! (And I must admit, it feels a tad bit weird eating a cross…) My Excitement For Easter Baskets Honestly, ever since I can remember, every Easter morning started with me waking to find an Easter basket setting in…

Current Reads: My Book Review of Martin Luther By Eric Metaxas
In all honesty, I could NOT be more excited when I heard that Eric Metaxas was writing yet another biography. Eric Metaxas’s books include Amazing Grace (biography of William Wilberforce), Seven Men (short biographies of men who have changed the world), and most of all his biography,Bonhoeffer. I will freely admit that I am a bit of a biography junkie. Personally, I love delving into the stories and histories of famous people from the past-especially those of the Christian faith. Let’s just say that I approached Eric Metaxas’s latest biography with HUGE expectations. 🙂 *This post contains affiliate links to help keep the ministry of Ambitions for Christ in operation. You…
