Amazing Christian Gift Ideas To Include In Your Kid’s Easter Basket!
For Christians, Easter is the highlight moment of celebration of Jesus’ victory over sin, death, and the grave! However, roaming the local stores I often struggle to find any evidence of Easter’s relation to the empty tomb. Instead there are rows of Easter bunnies, plastic eggs, and pastel baby chicks. If I look hard, I can find a chocolate shaped cross and maybe a little sign that says He is Risen! (And I must admit, it feels a tad bit weird eating a cross…)
My Excitement For Easter Baskets
Honestly, ever since I can remember, every Easter morning started with me waking to find an Easter basket setting in my chair at the breakfast table. (I think it was my mom’s way of making sure I would get out of bed in time for Sunrise Services-it worked.) Mostly, my mom would fill it with the Easter eggs I had decorated the day before, some chocolate eggs, and maybe a pretty new necklace or bracelet that I could wear to church. Oh, and don’t forget the chocolate cross. I am pretty sure it was her frustrated attempts at trying to remind me what the real reason for Easter was… And that reason wasn’t the Easter Bunny!
Easter Baskets For My Own Kids
Now that I am a mom to my own two special blessings, I am growing more and more aware of the difficulty of giving an Easter basket to them that does not just center around the Easter Bunny. Let’s be honest, there is enough other stuff in the world drawing my kid’s attention away from Christ and His victory on the cross. I don’t want Easter to become another time for that. I want Easter to be all about Jesus-even in something as simple as an Easter basket!
So, this past year, I started my search in earnest for great gifts that I can give my kids at Easter that will redirect their hearts and mind back to Jesus and His love for them! From one Christian mom to another, I pray this list helps you find ideas to turn even the simple act of giving an Easter basket into a moment of sharing Christ’s love with your kids! Here are some of the amazing gift options I have found!

Berenstain Bear Books
The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story and The Berenstain Bears’ Easter Sunday are two books that share meaningful stories about the true meaning of Easter from the eyes of Brother and Sister Bear.
Another Easter book that I don’t have yet but want to get is God Gave Us Easter. I have read this author’s God Gave Us Christmas and loved it so my hopes are pretty high for the Easter one. I will update you once I get the chance to get my hands on it! 🙂
Resurrection Eggs
I’ve seen different versions of this done but this set of Resurrection Eggs really is quite well done. Since the parts are small, I will probably be waiting a few more years to include it in my own little one’s Easter basket. Basically, each egg holds an object that tells a part of the Resurrection story. There is a book to guide you through the meaning of each object. Resurrection Eggs also works wonderful for a Sunday School class to supplement a lesson on Easter Sunday! Kids of all ages get really excited to see what will come out of the next egg! 🙂
The Easter Story Egg
The Easter Story Egg looks amazing! I found it while researching the Resurrection Eggs and I just had to share! It includes a set of nesting eggs with beautiful illustrations that tie into a book that comes with the set. I love how they tie the story and the activity of opening eggs together as well which is just a great motor skill/learning opportunity! I’m pretty sure this one will be in my daughter’s Easter basket either this year or next! 🙂 Okay, let’s look at some gift options if you have kids who like to use their creative side!
Children’s Activity Coloring Easter Cross Set
If you have young artists-in-training at your home, this set includes some basic crosses to color with the words “He is Risen!” Personally, I would love to grab some markers and work some coloring magic on these with my kids! They are simple enough for little ones but still something older kids (or moms) would enjoy coloring too! 🙂 Some other simple options to consider would be these amazing Cross Suncatchers or the ever-popular Magic Color Scratch Cross Ornaments.
Unfinished Wooden Cross To Decorate
If you have older kids who love to go wild in the craft department, you should check out these freestanding unfinished wooden crosses. Or if you prefer, you can use these wooden crosses that have the potential to be turned into magnets or ornaments. Include these wooden crosses in their Easter basket along with some paints and brushes, glue, magnets, paint pens and such and let your child’s inner artist come out! What I love most about this is it will take some time to finish which means it could be a great project to entertain your child with if you need a few moments or it could be used as a meaningful project to complete together as a family some evening following Easter!
Cross Christian Craft Boxes
Along the same lines as the plain wooden crosses to decorate, but slightly different. Make these Cross Christian Craft Boxes and use them to store something special! I’m thinking it would be a great place to story memory verse cards or pens for Bible study as a family or…okay, lots of options! You get the idea! 🙂
Holy Week Self-Inking Stampers
Okay, so sometimes we just have a little space we want to fill in the corners of the Easter basket…and we just don’t want to give our kids any more candy! Well, here is my solution for that!
I include these cute little stampers. Your child can stamp papers they color, cards to Grandma, and even their own hands (my daughter’s personal favorite!) They are a simple and enjoyable ways to fill in the cracks of your Easter basket.
Jesus Loves Me Temporary Tattoos
Okay, tattoos are a pretty divisive discussion so I hesitated to mention this but since it is another thing that I use as a filler in my Easter basket, I figured it was worth the quick note. There are some cute, Christian and VERY TEMPORARY Tattoos that can be included in your basket. Something that if your kids works hard at it, will survive two or three solid hand washes. Again, if this is something your family doesn’t support, skip on to the next ideas!
Christian Bookmarks for Kids
Another quick filler to Easter baskets are these sweet little Christian Bookmarks for Kids. Since they come in a pack of 60, these are great to hand out to a whole Sunday School class as well as to your own children!
Bible Trivia Games
Do your kids love games? Perhaps you enjoy Family Game Nights? Well, let their Easter baskets help supply the games for several Game Nights to come! My husband and I both love playing games and are so excited to see our oldest finally being able to join us at the table without fear of her eating gaming pieces. Just a few years down the road, I can safely say our kids will all be gaining new games to play from their Easter Baskets! Some awesome games to check out include Bible Blurt, Ideal Children’s Bible Trivia Game, Bible Sequence, and Bible Snap Flash Cards.
Candle Bible for Kids
Finally, I would like to put forward this is a great time to gift your child with a meaningful gift such as their first Bible or perhaps a new Bible fit for the age they are growing into. My toddler-aged daughter has loved her Candle Bible for Kids ragged! Bright-colored pictures on every single page along with easy to read paragraphs telling a crazy huge amount of Bible stories make it a favorite for both our kids and us as parents! We even do simple craft projects based off the stories and pictures in her Bible and she loves it! Her younger brother is already eyeing her Bible closely so he might just have to have his own copy as soon as we can convince him to not eat paper! 😛
Adventure Bible
For slightly older kids, I would recommend the Adventure Bible. It is a complete Bible but comes with great explanations of Biblical culture and stories at an easy to understand level. And they have great highlights of key verses that would be perfect to memorize with your kids!
The Action Bible
For the pre-teen/teen boy that might be thinking he is too cool for Easter Baskets but still wants something, I would highly recommend The Action Bible. It is a retelling of pretty much all the Bible stories you can possibly imagine-just done as a Graphic novel! My husband actually owns this and still loves to flip through and re-read the Bible in this form. It is Biblically sound, artistically award-winning, and overall a stunning masterpiece of a book that a teen guy would not look too “uncool” for owning!
The Revolve Bible
For the pre-teen/teen girl, I would recommend The Revolve Bible. Whenever I have to give a gift to a young Christian lady, I choose The Revolve Bible! Okay, and I will admit, I still love my Revolve Bible too when I am feeling a little nostalgic for my younger years! 🙂 Along with being a complete Bible, it includes daily devotionals for young women throughout the entire Bible. Your daughter can literally study the entire Bible using these devotions! In additions to awesome devotionals, you will find colored pages scattered throughout The Revolve Bible highlighting important topics that Christian girls face and what the Bible has to say about these issues.
CTA
Finally, I would be remiss if I did not mention the great resource I have discovered that helps me give great gifts to all the kids that show up to our church on Easter Sunday. CTA provides dozens of options of Christian gift ideas that you can buy singularly or in bulk depending on your needs. While they deliver great options for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, my personal favorites are always their Easter gift ideas! Their products share a clear Gospel message in clever and unique ways that both kids and parents will appreciate. When all else fails, I always end up heading back over to CTA to find just the right Christian gift that I need!

We’ve never done Easter baskets, but I love your ideas! We just got our oldest the Adventure Bible for Christmas, he loves it, I’m thinking of getting the Action Bible at some point too.

I think there is something about the Action Bible that just draws a boy’s attention. As cool as it looks, I just to do not understand the appeal as much as my hubby! 🙂
