Current Reads-The Case for Faith by Lee Strobel
As Christians, can we defend our faith from the world’s critiques? Are there too many objections to our faith to make it a valid belief system? In his book The Case for Faith, Lee Strobel goes on a journalistic investigation to determine answers to eight of the biggest objections to the Christian faith.
A few weeks ago, I stumbled across a copy of this book at a garage sale. I really enjoyed The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel and we own the The Case for Christ Study Bible. Thus, when I saw another book by Lee Strobel, I knew I wanted to read it too!
Book Overview
Christians face LOTS of criticism for their faith in God. Lee Strobel decided to face several of these objections head on to see if it is reasonable for a person to have faith in God.
During his investigation, Strobel interviewed several Christian thinkers of our day including Ravi Zacharias, William Lane Craig, Norman Geisler, and J. P. Moreland just to name a few.
Lee Strobel ask the experts hard questions regarding the following topics (and more):
- suffering in the world
- the existence and necessity of hell
- the claim that Jesus is the only Way
- science and the Christian faith
My Thoughts
Well, to be honest, this book is probably now one of my top reading recommendations for new Christians (or for Christians who want to know more about why they believe what they believe.) Throughout the book, Lee Strobel does a fantastic job of digging through the challenges to Christian faith and finding solid answers.
From my own personal experiences, the questions he asks the experts are all questions that I have faced from non-believers when I share my faith with them. After reading this book, I feel much more prepared to give coherent answers to the questions they pose. Plus, it is nice to know I have a book that I can point them towards for the answers!
If you are Christian who sometimes wonders if your faith has reasonable answers to back up the Bible’s claims, definitely take the time to read this book! You will not be disappointed!
